Success story: Jack

Jack was 11 months old when Early Intervention first met him and his mom, Jade, in September 2025. At the time, he was having difficulty reaching several developmental milestones — he wasn’t yet sitting independently, was struggling with solid foods, wasn’t sleeping well, and wasn’t making many sounds.

Together, we started by looking at what would make the biggest difference for Jack first. Jade was given strategies to help strengthen Jack’s core and was connected with a physiotherapist for extra support. With time, Jack began sitting independently. We also encouraged Jade to speak with Jack’s doctor about his digestion, which led to medication that helped ease his tummy troubles.

Once Jack was more comfortable sitting on his own, other pieces began to fall into place. He started accepting some solid foods, became happier, and began making more sounds. Jade was deeply committed to following through with the strategies shared with her — she even got Jack’s daycare involved so everyone could support him consistently.

Today, Jack is crawling, playing, smiling and babbling more. Early Intervention helped Jade and Jack navigate the next steps, connect with helpful resources, and celebrate the progress that can happen when families are supported in a way that meets them where they are.
