Our story
Building new tomorrows since 1978.
For more than four decades, Transitions has walked alongside people with developmental disabilities and their families in St. Albert and area.
Who We Are
Rooted in St. Albert since 1978
Transitions Rehabilitation Association of St. Albert and District opened its doors in 1978, built on a simple conviction: that everyone deserves to lead their own life, form meaningful relationships, and take their full place in the community.
What began as support for a handful of local families has grown, over more than 45 years, into programs that span an entire lifetime — from a child's earliest years right through adulthood. As the children we first worked with grew up, our programs grew with them, so support never had to stop at a birthday or a diagnosis.
Through all of that change, our approach has stayed the same. We start with the person, not the paperwork — building on each individual's strengths, working closely with families, and believing that fun and creativity lead to better outcomes.
Today, Transitions is still what it has always been: a local, non-profit organization rooted in St. Albert and accountable to the community it serves. We're building new tomorrows, one person and one family at a time.
