Behavioural Consultant
Family supports for behaviour needs for children birth -17 years
At Transitions, our Family Behaviour Consultation (FBC) program is designed to support children and families in understanding and managing behaviour in positive, practical ways.
Family Behaviour Consultation (FBC) provides one-on-one support to parents and caregivers who are navigating behavioural or emotional challenges with their child. Through coaching, observation, and collaborative planning, we help families learn strategies that build emotional regulation, improve communication, and create calm, predictable routines at home and in the community.
Our goal is to help every child reach their fullest potential while supporting families to feel confident, connected, and equipped with tools that work.
Behavioural Consulting Services
Behavioural Consulting Services are available for children from birth to 17 years old and are offered through Alberta’s Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program. All BCS contracts come directly through your FSCD caseworker, who connects your family with Transitions for individualized, hands-on support.
Through FBC, we help families:
- Build emotional regulation and coping skills
- Strengthen communication and connection
- Create healthy routines and positive behaviour patterns
- Support independence and confidence in daily life
At Transitions, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow, connect, and thrive— and we’re here to help families make that happen, one step at a time.
