Community Living

Supporting people to create good lives

We all have dreams, goals and talents and we spend most of our lives working towards attaining our goals and creating good lives for ourselves.

For adults with developmental disabilities it is often difficult to create the life they want without the support of others. Community Living strives to give that support in a way that is respectful of the uniqueness and gifts of each person. We believe that the best way for people to reach their full potential is to follow their passions and goals.

Services and Supports

  • Our services are designed on an individual basis to incorporate each person’s unique goals and personalities.
  • Our supports range from 24hr staffing assistance to flexible models that provide staffing only when it is needed.
  • People supported by Community Living have a plan created with them that works towards realizing the lives they want. This may include support to find a job, take classes and assistance with day to day activities such as grocery shopping and transportation.
  • Staff assist individuals in connecting to their community in a meaningful way. Skill development occurs through creative teaching methods while engaging in daily activities. There is a strong focus on supporting each individual’s decision making and ability to have a say in the way his/her life unfolds.
  • Engaging natural supports in the community is our priority as we help people to develop lasting and meaningful relationships. Involvement from the person’s family and friends is strongly valued and often is an integral part of the person’s support network.
