Transitions Rehabilitation Association of St. Albert and District was established in 1978 as a non-profit society and a registered charity. We were formerly called the St. Albert Association for People with Disabilities.

  • We offer support services to individuals with developmental delays and disabilities of all ages and their families in St. Albert, Sturgeon County and Northwest Edmonton.
  • We work with more than 230 individuals and families each year.
  • We employ more than 225 staff.
  • Early Intervention provides support and information to families of young children (up to 3 1/2 years old) in a variety of settings and locations.
  • Family Services offers staff, family support and program information through in-home and out-of-home family relief/respite and other services. Specialized child-focused supports are available as needed.
  • Community Living includes staffing supports to assist adults to live in their own homes and to participate in community life. Our person centered approaches promote inclusion and empowerment.
  • We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from our community.  Board members are elected by the membership and serve two year terms.
  • We work collaboratively with local and regional partners to advocate and promote community living, equal rights and accessibility.
  • We have been long standing members of the Alberta Association for Community Living, the Alberta Council of Disability Services,  ALIGN and the Edmonton Council of Service Providers.
  • We are an approved service provider of and receive funding from Alberta Health and the Ministry of Human Services - Disibilities Services Program.
  • We are accredited under the "Creating Excellence Together" standards.
